TEPAL player selected for 2012 id2 National Selection International Tour
Feb. 13, 2012--- Chad Sahinkaya, of the Dallas Texans, was one of 18 boys from across the US selected for the upcoming trip to Spain, Feb. 17-27 as an Ambassador for the United States via the 2012 id2 National Selection, and is also the only player selected from Texas. Chad has played in the DFW area since the age of five with club teams and his hard work and dedication to the sport has paid off with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that he is so honored to be a part of.
Chad currently plays on the U13 Pre-Academy team and is their center-mid and captain. In the last two games in the Texas Pre-Academy league, Chad has been a standout. Jan. 22 against Houston Dynamo he scored the only goal that won the game for his team and in the last game on Feb. 1 against FC Dallas he scored two of the teams three goals and had the assist for the third and final goal. Also, in the Oct. 30th game against Solar he scored two of the three goals for the team.
"Chad is a very talented young soccer player with a very bright future . He has worked intelligently as well as very hard to get where he is. This trip to Spain with other talented young men will be a great experience for him soccer wise as well as culturally. The Dallas Texans soccer club is extremely proud of his accomplishment at such a young age," says Coach Hassan Nazari.
On Chad’s upcoming trip he Spain, he will be playing games against UE Cornellà & RCD Espanyol - Home ground of UE Cornellà, FC Barcelona - at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and Atlético Madrid - at Ciudad del Fútbol (the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the governing body of soccer in Spain). The team will cap off the trip by attending the FC Barcelona vs. Atlético Madrid La Liga game at Estadio Vicente Calderón on Sun., Feb. 26.
